17:00 – JFMK
A Festival Summary and Interviews with the Exhibiting Artists (HU)
The official opening of the 2nd EFKZ Art Festival also marked the opening of two intriguing visual art exhibitions.
Opening speeches were given by Tálas-Tamássy Richárd, Deputy Mayor, on behalf of the City Hall, and Szádváriné Kiss Mária, Director of JFMK, who also recited a mandatory Petőfi quote at this year’s Art Festival. The speeches were also delivered by Lesták Bedő Eszter, the Artistic Director of the Festival, and Bolyki András, the Festival Director.
Attila Mata, a recipient of the Munkácsy Award for Sculpture, set up his studio in Biatorbágy and creates his works among us. It’s even possible that some of his artworks were inspired by the town’s residents or events! Who knows? The exhibition opening featured a special performance, where András Bolyki, a violist and the Festival Director, unveiled one of Mata Attila’s artworks in front of the audience. Then, an improvisation inspired by the statue on the revolving pedestal followed, accompanied by Bolyki András’s viola performance.

In the reception area before the main hall, an exhibition by Marci Bolyki, a visual artist and the concert photographer of EFKZ, is displayed. His images aren’t just documents of previous concerts; each photograph has a story, enhanced and strengthened by the composition and cropping techniques used.
